Coach Fred Polich, a sprinter and long jumper, has served as Meet Director for the Great Southwest Track & Field Classic since 2001, and  has been coaching Boys Track & Field and Boys and Girls Cross Country at Del Norte High School, Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1990.

A  Level 1 National Certified Coach, who has coached at all levels: Age group, High School, Collegiate, Post Collegiate, with over 25 Individual State Champions, Coach Polich is also the Historian for the New Mexico Track & Cross Country Coaches Association; is the recorder of Boys Track Records, 1995 to Present; a USAT&F National Certified Official; and member of the US Anti-Doping Association as Notifying Chaperone at the USA Indoor Nationals.
